SWISS LX 2121 · Málaga (AGP) → Zürich (ZRH)
Isa (Isabella Ballarini Penarrubia) + Bruno (Bruno Jefferson Borges Ribeiro) arrive
G8JHQY is the United confirmation number — a MileagePlus award on SWISS-operated flights, paid with the Visa ••1263. SWISS may hold a different record locator, which is what ZRH check-in will ask for. LX 2121 AGP → ZRH, lands Thu 24 Sep 09:00. This is their arrival — the first thing that happens on this trip. Their flight home is a separate leg three days later: LX 2120 ZRH → AGP, Sun 27 Sep 21:25 (see Sunday). Baggage reclaim plus getting on the road realistically puts departure from ZRH around 09:45.

Drive Zürich → München
~310 km · A1/A96 via Bregenz + Memmingen · ~3h30–4h without traffic
Leave ZRH once Isa and Bruno are through baggage reclaim. Realistic Munich arrival: 13:30–14:00, which matches the "we arrive at two" plan. Traffic into Munich during the Wiesn is heavy from mid-afternoon onwards — the earlier out of Zürich, the better. Park at the hotel, not at the Theresienwiese: there is effectively no parking at the Wiesn during Oktoberfest.

Stroll the Wiesn · Augustiner or Hacker beer garden
Theresienwiese, 80339 München · no reservation, walk-in
Two to three hours strolling, with one or two beer gardens. Augustiner-Festhalle — the traditional pick, and its outdoor garden is walk-in. Hacker-Festzelt ("Himmel der Bayern") — the alternative you mentioned. Neither outdoor garden needs a reservation. Indoor tables in the big tents are largely reserved at peak times; walking into a tent unreserved is easiest earlier in the afternoon, and gets harder as the evening comes on. Getting there from the hotel: U3 from Thalkirchen or Obersendling towards the centre, exit Poccistraße or Goetheplatz, then a short walk. Do not drive.

Oide Wiesn
Southern end of the Theresienwiese · separate entrance, own ticket
The historic Wiesn — old rides, brass bands, a calmer crowd than the main tents. It is a separate fenced area with its own entry fee, which is part of why it stays quieter. It closes earlier than the main Wiesn, which is what makes it the stop before heading into town for 20:00. This is the "little bit of Oide Wiesn" from your plan, and it runs straight into the Hofbräuhaus from 20:00.

20:00
Hofbräuhaus am Platzl — Schwemme, walk-in
Platzl 9, 80331 München · ☎ +49 89 290136100 · no reservation
Schwemme, inside — the big ground-floor hall where the band plays. Walk in, no booking. The Schwemme takes no reservations by house rule: "In der Schwemme gilt: Setzen Sie sich einfach dazu!" — free seating, you join a table. Reservations exist only for the Bräustüberl upstairs, which is the quiet room without the band, so a booking would have bought the wrong thing. Practical: on an Oktoberfest Friday it is busiest 19:00–21:00. Spreading out and taking whatever seats come free, rather than holding out for ten together, is how a group this size gets in. Getting there from the Wiesn: the U4/U5 do not stop at Marienplatz — take them to Karlsplatz (Stachus) and walk about 8 minutes, or any S-Bahn from Hackerbrücke to Marienplatz, 3 minutes away. The house beer is Hofbräu, served by the Maß; the kitchen runs late.

Where the un-reservable tables are
Public entrance — NOT the "R (Nordseite)" reservation door
Two places are un-reservable by city rule, and they are yours for the whole day if you get them. 1 · The Biergarten — the surest bet. Tent beer gardens cannot be reserved at all; every seat is first-come, first-served, all day, every day. Schottenhamel's garden is on the outside of the tent. No minimum spend, no voucher, no time limit — you sit until you leave. 2 · The free quarter inside the hall. By the city's rules 25% of all seats in a big tent may never be reserved. On a Friday that quarter is the whole un-reservable share (the higher 35% / 50%-before-15:00 rules apply to Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, not to us). Those seats are scattered through the Mittelschiff and the side areas — they are not signposted, so the way to find them is to walk in and ask a Kellnerin where the "unreservierte Plätze" are; they know exactly which tables are theirs to fill. How to actually get them: go in through the ordinary public entrance, not the R door — the reservation entrance only lets you to booked tables. Be there when the tent opens, well before the 11:00 crowd. Split up: two people grabbing a bench end works where ten people asking for a whole table does not, and once you are seated the rest join you. The catch worth knowing: a walk-in table is only yours while you are sitting at it. Leave it empty and it goes. So if you want somewhere to come back to after the box closes at 15:30, someone stays with it.

Schottenhamel · Hallenboxe, Tisch 88-1 · 10 Personen
Buchungsnummer 99582 · Code GR9MLJ · Kundennummer 81210 · booked as Dr. Oliver Francis Koch
Confirmed reservation. Friday 25.09.2026, 11:00–15:30, Bereich Hallenboxe, table 88-1 (their labels: BOXE 88 / Hallenbox Mitte), 10 Personen. Entry via the "R (Nordseite)" reservation entrance. What the € 49.40 per person actually buys — it is a fixed package, not a spend credit. The confirmation words it as "Freuen Sie sich auf Ihre Auswahl: 10x 2 Maß Oktoberfestbier, ½ frisches Wiesnhendl · Preis: 49,40 € pro Person". So each of the ten gets two Maß and half a roast chicken, pre-ordered. Anything else you order on the day is extra, on top. € 550.90 total: · 10 × € 49.40 package = € 494.00 · Bearbeitungsgebühr € 1.50 × 10 = € 15.00 · Zustellung / courier of the vouchers = € 41.90 Nothing is auto-charged. "In wenigen Tagen erhalten Sie Ihre Zahlungsaufforderung per E-Mail" — the payment request follows. 🛑 Be seated at 11:00 sharp. Their terms: "Wir bitten Sie, die Plätze pünktlich zum Reservierungsbeginn einzunehmen. Nach dieser Uhrzeit besteht kein Anspruch mehr auf die Reservierung." Late means the table is no longer yours. The reservation is valid only for you and your guests, and passing it on to third parties voids it outright. Vouchers ship to Nelkenweg 4, 6300 Zug — you chose delivery over collection at the tent. The box is yours 11:00–15:30 only. The plan is to stay until about 20:00 and eat there, so the after-15:30 stretch runs on the free tables above — that is the whole reason for being there at 10:00. Schottenhamel takes no evening reservations at all ("keine Abendreservierungen" — regulars hold them), so there is no way to book that stretch.
